The cuisine was rather unusual. I forgot that now that I've moved to Sydney and living in the St. George region stretching from Hurstville to the city, there are a kazzibjbeffazillion Asians who can understand my bad Cantonese. I ignorantly exclaimed "is this Shanghai-nese food?", confused at the mixed cuisine. The lady said "no."...and left me in my ignorance. So I still don't know which part of China this food comes from.

But it's also because I'm so miserably distant
from my cultural identity

Beef Hot Pot with Congee Centre

We also had Chow Mein,steamed Chinese vegetables with Hoisin sauce, a beef stew and pigs stomach. But I was the only 'teenager' (my cousin was also there), and the rest were adults and grandparents. It would have been too awkward with them to say "Hey! Pass me that pig stomach! I won't eat it, but I just want to take freaky photos of it and show it to my bogan friends! :D" So yeah. Touché.
